Who We Are
We are a collective of Chicagoan pipe enthusiasts and seekers of camaraderie.
Bound by curiosity and a shared reverence for craft, we gather to celebrate the art of pipe smoking — its history, its makers, and the quiet moments it creates.
But above all, we gather to enjoy ourselves — to share stories, laughter, and good company.
To make new friends and keep old ones close — one bowl at a time.
Our Society is a place for connection: between people, between past and present, between the self and the ember’s glow.
It’s not about smoke alone — it’s about presence, reflection, and belonging.
Our Home
We gather once a month — typically on the first Saturday — at Iwan Ries & Co., a Chicago landmark that has stood since 1857 as the oldest continually operating tobacconist in the United States.
It’s more than a meeting place.
It’s our hearth — where tradition lives, laughter lingers, and time slows down.
Our gatherings are BYOB, relaxed, and open to anyone who wants to share a bowl and some good conversation.
Join Our Club
Whether you’re discovering your first pipe or tending to an old favorite, there’s a place for you.
We welcome all who share our reverence for heritage, curiosity for craft, and desire for connection — and a good time.
⎾ All are welcome — regardless of background, culture, sex, orientation, or experience level. In the glow of the pipe, everyone stands equal.⏋
